Going for a paddle isn’t an activity that I can take Maia with so at the beginning of the week I just have to decide on a day and then the dog walker comes in for her. So it can be a bit hit and miss weather, really just about going for it regardless. This morning when I left Glasgow thought it was going to be a cold, wet and grey day for a paddle. How wrong could I be!
Cold day out on Loch Lomond today but luckily dry and no wind so once we were all wrapped up and in our kayaks it was easy enough to keep warm and have fun.
I don’t always pay that much attention to the weather forecast as pretty much whatever it is doing I will be getting outdoors in some shape or another so when it all clicks together it is great. Yesterday was one of those days as had decided that I would be going for a kayak and it turned out to be the most amazing day on the water.
In the past week Kat and I have managed to get out on the water at Loch Lomond twice. Really want to try to get out kayaking at least once a week if we can, great fun and good exercise. It also helps just to get out onto the water.
Talk talk talk talk talk talk talk talk talk talk talk and talk. That is what I have to do. Improving your mental health is about talking, that is really what is going to make the difference and help.
Last Monday and Tuesday while down in Clachan I got the opportunity to go out for a paddle in the morning. Would have been criminal not to take advantage of the weather. Kayaking is something that I absolutely love but due to a few reasons haven’t been able to do much of it the past few years. Making a real effort to change that now so this was a good start.
