Took quite a few photos today when went for a walk at Loch Ard so thought would do an individual blog for them rather than just in the week round up. Water reflections is the main theme from today as it was completely flat calm and looked amazing, was hard to choose which photos to keep. Continue reading “Loch Ard In Winter”
In yesterdays blog I talked about that to have a goal you need to have a plan so I spent some time yesterday coming up with a plan for some of my goals over the next few months. Continue reading “Walking Goal”
Always find this time of year amazing for colours to see the greens turning to browns, oranges and reds. I would be hard to pick a favourite season as there is something good in all of them but my favourite part of this season is very much the colours.
So was great to go for a walk yesterday down at Loch Ard and get to enjoy all the colours. Was a bit of a grey day weather wise but actually that didn’t really matter , apart from the home ward stretch back to the car there wasn’t any rain. After spending so much time in the outdoors over the past few months and now that being reduced was good to use the opportunity yesterday to get outside.
For quite a while now I have been using my GoPro for photos which is great to do however today I fancied using my camera for a change.
One of the days that I was down in Clachan I went for a long walk along Westport beach, absolutely love being on the beach next to the sea. Sometimes there really is nothing better and is exactly what is needed to think and not think. While there I sent a few picture messages to people joking about a tough day at the office which made me think I could make this my office.
For a while I have been looking for a solution for taking pictures while out walking, I have carried my DSLR for whole walks before but it good to have both hands free a lot of the time. I have stored it in my rucksack which is okay but one is fairly heavy and takes up room but also means rucksack on and off quite a lot and taking pictures interrupts the flow of the walk. Have used a compact camera a few times which I can then keep in my pocket but just not happy with the quality of the photos. Sometimes I use my phone but it is nice to be phone free for a walk. Anyway I think I have found my solution and that is my GoPro. Light enough to have out all the time plus waterproof, easy to take videos with and not interrupt the flow of the walk plus when it is on it’s GoPro stick can have it attached to my rucksack by the walking pole loops so that I can have both hands free for a lot of the time. Perfect!
Last week I was in Kintyre and had amazing weather. You wouldn’t really believe it was Scotland! I am now back in Glasgow with a lot of photos as tried to make the most of my time getting out and about. Was really an activities week from kayaking to biking to walking with a little bit of gardening and relaxing thrown in as well. The next few blogs are going to be about the week and what I got up to so this first one is a taster really.
